Today is the official last day of September, and the beginning of a new season of fall.  The scripture for today is a great one.

Verse of the Day

Philippians 1:9-10

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,

This is a repost from 2017 – the message talks about the era of transitioning.

Last Friday, March 17 I post many interesting facts that I’ve understood about a biblical transition between King David handing over his reign to his son Solomon.  I only posted the scripture without any input from my writing. The Word explanation is life and powerful all by its self.

As I often ask the Lord where are we and what is happening in our earth from heavens perspective?

Now according to the scriptures pertaining to Adonijah, what does the battle between elder brother Adonijah and the 2nd son Solomon is about?  It’s about the battle of 5 things:

1. Law and Grace

2. The enemy for the position of power.

3. The law living in the position of power.l

4.  The reign of the totality of grace – Solomon Temple and the extended presence of Christ in the body of Christ.

5. Faith through Love living.

The enemy of Grace coming into the lives of God church body, Adonijah, in his mischievous kind of why tried to under handedly attempted to steal the position during a transitioning time without the King David realizing it. Adonijah knew his father King David was sick in bed and wasn’t fully equipped to oversee the kingdom.  Because of the promise to David that his son Solomon will inherit the reign of his kingdom, someone from the field watching Adonijah’s error, who  understand protocol ran to the house of David and revealed the treacherous act.  At that moment the King David raised from his bed and placed the coat – King David had the original coat; placed the Kings robe on his son Solomon.

The story has many connotations to feed on for adequate accuracy of His Word for the 2017 current year. Solomon reign as King blessed the nation with the measurement of Solomon’s temple — which is the temple of you.

Be blessed as you read the story.

Here is the Friday scripture posting from Friday.

The Execution of Adonijah

1Kings 2:24-26

…24″Now therefore, as the LORD lives, who has established me and set me on the throne of David my father and who has made me a house as He promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death today.”

25So King Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him so that he died.

26Then to Abiathar the priest the king said, “Go to Anathoth to your own field, for you deserve to die; but I will not put you to death at this time, because you carried the ark of the Lord GOD before my father David, and because you were afflicted in everything with which my father was afflicted.”…

So King Solomon gave orders to Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he struck down Adonijah and he died.

Graceful faith is simply believing daily your steps for an ultimate end.  The word tells us that our steps are ordered by the Lord.  The word also tells us that the word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.  As you understand profoundly about scripture, you can come to realize that the lamp is an inward knowing leading your way.

Today, keep your ears open to hearing with ears that only your inwardly will know the details where to step next.

Here is a video that Mr. Tyler Perry recorded many years ago.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Psalm 25

Of David.

1In you, Lord my God,

I put my trust.

2I trust in you;

do not let me be put to shame,

nor let my enemies triumph over me.

3No one who hopes in you

will ever be put to shame,

but shame will come on those

who are treacherous without cause.

4Show me your ways, Lord,

teach me your paths.

5Guide me in your truth and teach me,

for you are God my Savior,

and my hope is in you all day long.

6Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,

for they are from of old.

7Do not remember the sins of my youth

and my rebellious ways;

according to your love remember me,

for you, Lord, are good.

8Good and upright is the Lord;

therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.

9He guides the humble in what is right

and teaches them his way.

10All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful

toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.

11For the sake of your name, Lord,

forgive my iniquity, though it is great.

12Who, then, are those who fear the Lord?

He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.b

13They will spend their days in prosperity,

and their descendants will inherit the land.

14The Lord confides in those who fear him;

he makes his covenant known to them.

15My eyes are ever on the Lord,

for only he will release my feet from the snare.

16Turn to me and be gracious to me,

for I am lonely and afflicted.

17Relieve the troubles of my heart

and free me from my anguish.

18Look on my affliction and my distress

and take away all my sins.

19See how numerous are my enemies

and how fiercely they hate me!

20Guard my life and rescue me;

do not let me be put to shame,

for I take refuge in you.

21May integrity and uprightness protect me,

because my hope, Lord,c is in you.

22Deliver Israel, O God,

from all their troubles!

Never tear down anything unless you are prepared to build something better in its place.

This rule applies to both individuals and things. It’s easy to criticize other people thoughtlessly for their shortcomings, and equally easy to find fault in their work or in situations that are not to your liking. It is far more difficult to be a builder of people and to create works of art, useful products, or profitable businesses. Make sure you are a builder, not a destroyer of people and things. When you criticize the actions or work of others — your children, your employees, or others for whom you are responsible — make sure your criticisms are positive and directed at the act, or the opportunity for improvement, not the individual. Include specific suggestions for their application and focus on the potential for success.

We never want to underestimate a kind word spoken even in passing to someone we encounter on our journey. Words indeed create worlds, as the late Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel asserted.

It was Jean Vanier who said “To be lonely is to feel unwanted and unloved, and therefore unloveable…”. The profound alienation and loneliness prevalent in the culture is masked by the many addictions present within the culture.

Lamps, Lamps Lamps and more Lamps.

This is a picture of a person who has received understanding of the word of God.  Picture that for a moment.  I’m thinking about the praying lamps – the grandmothers, and or mothers who usually sit on the first two rows of any church.  Meditate on that but seeing beautiful lamps positioned perfectly trimmed with colored hats that represent lamp shades to tone down the light for the edifier – the pastor and or the teachers on Sunday’s.  (smiles)

After this write-up, I hope that you no longer see another seasoned believer the same; I pray that your spiritual eyes will see them as lamps, ready to embrace, for you see them;  some, the lamps are like the measures of a light bulb – 30 watt, 60 watt, 70 watt, 100 watt, 200 watt, and even 500 watt, but there is a light and some, the lights are shining brighter than bright.  At the same time, you can see lights that need to be changed, though the light bulb has burned out over time and need to be replaced or even upgraded for better brightness.  That would be the studying of the word of God.

There is a scripture that will better embrace my point regarding “Lamps” shining everywhere.  The scripture is Psalms 119:105 says,

Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

You see, once I understood that the very scriptures I and you read daily are lamps, and when revelations is given by the Holy Spirit over and over and over and over again in my and your lifetime, it is light to your path.

Can you know fact,  that nature light shines forever because of the word in which nature is created to be as created, that hears and sees, that is never darkened by the seasons….Nature brings enlightenment daily….

You see, this will eliminate those who enjoy putting your light out so that they can shine brighter than the person they’re assaulting or embarrassing or gossiping or shaming publicly and privately.  It actually puts their light out or it dims it over time for it to be changed for a newer light or brighter light bulb the educating a better understanding of His word. If that makes any sense?

The word is also seed, which is Jesus and He can not be destroyed because the seed or the lamp has been revealed which is the path.

Now picture that concept in a seasoned believer which is not determined by age, race or any demographic measurements. It is determined by a thirsty and a hungry soul that is longing for a brighter way of life.

You future is bright, accept that, it has been confirmed and made true.

Have a wonderful week!

One of the great things about the word is that it speaks to you regarding you.

Today I would like to share with you the Apostle Paul writings in Galatians 4:21. Here is where Paul speaks about two covenants in reference to Abraham who is the “Father of Faith”.

The word said that Abraham was in two covenants within his house. It said that Abraham has two sons; one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. It states that the one son of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh. You know the story in Genesis. It said that Sarah, Abraham wife became impatient while waiting on the promised son God said would bless nations as many as the stars. Abraham and Sarah operated out of the flesh obtaining a son Ishmael, one of the fruit of the flesh that is written in Galatians 5:19.  They are: 1. Adultery 2. Fornication 3. Uncleanness 4. Lasciviousness 5. Idolatry 6. Witchcraft 7. Hatred 8. Variance 9. Emulations 10. Wrath 11. Strife 12. Seditions 13. Heresies 14. Envying’s 15. Murders 16. Drunkenness 17. Revellings.

What are the type of the fruit of the flesh did Sarah and Abraham acted upon from the list?  1. Adultery – Abraham was under a new covenant of grace and he formed a covenant with law to receive a promise which was not a promise. 2. Fornication – He was in covenant with another person. 3. Envying’s – Later became an issue in Abraham house with the two sons. Sarah had to demand Abraham to put Hagar & Ishmael out because of the conflict it caused the promised son Isaac.

The verse continues — and he of the freewoman through promise, which things are symbolic. The freewoman through promise are the fruit of the spirit. They are: 1. Love 2. Joy 3. Peace 4. Forbearance 5. Kindness 6. Goodness 7. Faithfulness 8. Gentleness 9. Self Control.  It says that against such things there is no law (flesh works operating)

What are the type of the fruit of the spirit did Abraham ignored from the list? 1. Love 2. Forbearance 3. Faithfulness 4. Self Control

I enjoy reviewing the book of Galatians often.  It maintains the awareness that we live under a new covenant of grace, faith, and love in Christ Jesus.

Sonya Buchanan/ 10:30 pm

Below are the explanation of the fruit of the flesh in detail.

Adultery [one person married but having sex with someone else] lust of others spouse; indulge illicit lust; giving yourself to illicit sex without payment; gratify illicit sex of the homosexual or the heterosexual; provoking incest; unfaithfulness to God.

Fornication [having sex and not being married to each other], between the unmarried or married; indulge unlawful lust; illicit sexual practice with payment as in prostitution; illicit sexual practice of either sex; lust in the heart.

Uncleanness [morally impure, evil, vile, unlikable], whatever is opposite of purity; having evil thoughts and/or actions. God says that homosexuality, bestiality, and all other forms of sexual perversion render a person unclean.

Lasciviousness [indicating sexual interest or expressive of lust or lewdness], promiscuous, not the act of fornication but everything leading up to it. Like a guy who is a skirt chaser or a woman being a tease. Being improper in your actions and your communications or going around scantly clad in order to induce impure or lustful thoughts and feeling toward you from another person.

Idolatry [the worship of idols, excessive or blind adoration, reverence or devotion to anything other than God], anything dethroning God. This includes praying to saints and statues hoping that god will hear you through them.

Witchcraft [practicing magic using demonic powers], Greek: pharmakeia, (This word gives us our English word: Pharmacy) sorcery, practice of dealing with evil spirits; magical incantations and casting spells and charms upon someone using “magic potions” and drugs of various kinds. Enchantments were used to inflict evil, pains, hatred, sufferings, and death. Or even “white witchcraft” used with good intentions to bring goodness, health, love, joy and other blessings. If the power is not coming from God, then it is technically witchcraft and only bad things will come of it.

Hatred [intense dislike or hostility], lack of regard for another. Bitter dislike and ill-will against anyone; tendency to hold grudges against or be angry at someone; wanting to hurt them.

Variance [conflict, arguing, fighting] not agreeing when you should; a quarrel, being difficult to deal with.

Emulations [resentment against a rival, a person enjoying success or advantage], to copy another to equal or surpass; jealousy as with malice [intent to harm]. Striving to excel at the expense of another; seeking to surpass and outdo others; unbridled rivalry in religion, business, society, and other fields of endeavor. Ice skater Nancy Kerrigan getting hurt by Tonya Harding’s crew back in 1994 is a good example. That event led to the eventual ruin of Tonya Harding’s career. She reaped what she sowed.

Wrath [vengeance or punishment as the consequence of great anger], fierceness; Determined and lasting anger as in getting back at someone for a perceived wrong doing.

Strife [struggling in opposition], Contest for superiority or advantage for selfish gain; not as in playing a game or in a healthy sporting competition. The sport of wrestling is a good example of healthy strife. Strife is not always physical, it can be metal using words like in a religious or political debate. Where it becomes a work of the flesh is when the intention is to hurt the other either physically or mentally or emotionally. Like I tell my kids, “It’s all fun and games till someone starts crying.” That’s when hatred and wrath usually kick in!

Seditions [rebellious disorder]; causing trouble. Stirring up strife in religion, government, at work, home or any other place.

Heresies [divisions in religious communities], The word itself has no evil meaning. It simply refers to a doctrinal view or belief conflicting with the recognized and accepted tenets of a system, church, or party. It becomes a work of the flesh when the heart behind the division is to cause trouble, hurt people or raise ones self up in importance over another. Heresies become evil when sound bible doctrine is rejected and a false doctrine is taught in place of the truth.

Envyings [close to jealousy, a feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another’s advantages, success, possessions], ill-will, spite, jealousy; thinking a person is not worthy of having what they have, because you feel you are more deserving.

Murders [the intentional killing of another human being], or organized slaughter. This includes being involved in a murder even if you are not directly responsible for the death.

Drunkenness [intoxication, in this case alcohol but can include any mind altering drug], Excessive drinking or drug use to the point that you diminish or even lose good judgment and self control. Excessive drug use is widely known as the fast track to self destruction and it deeply hurts others who are involved.

Revellings [partying hard, indulging in loud boisterous festivities for no apparent reason], the letting loose of inhibitions and good judgement, getting roudy or going on a drunken rampage; also involves rioting.
